Stan Hunter Boatbuilder specializes in the service, restoration, and repair of small craft wood boats and runabouts up to 35'.

Sister company Muskoka Launch Livery rents classic boats by the day or week. Our fleet of Duke Playmate Launches is available here on Lake Muskoka or at your dock within our service area.

We also build-to-order new small craft; double-paddle canoes, double-ended rowboats, traditional rowing skiffs, and a wonderful 16' outboard boat as pictured below, based on a W.J. Johnston outboard from 1953.

Some Background

Established in 1990, Stan Hunter Boatbuilder is a small shop with a big commitment to personalized service and quality throughout.

We rebuild two or three boats a year and refinish, service and touch up another dozen. We also maintain 30 or 40 boats out on the Muskoka Lakes on an annual spring/fall basis for a growing roster of regular clients. Many of the craft we service were built in the region, including Duke Playmates, SeaBirds, Greavettes, and Ditchburns.
